Job description and application form

Position Reporting:

This position is part of Sunday Cool – Art Department reporting to the Art Manager

 

Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm [40 hours/week]. 

Overtime may be required based on workload and client/sales demands. This position will be likely to have overtime or weekend work during the peak of busy season, running May-July.

 

Areas of Responsibility include but are not limited to:

As a team member of the art department, a Staff Artist is responsible for creating high-quality and innovative artwork for clients, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable art experience. In addition to collaborating with fellow team members to address client requests creatively, Staff Artists play a vital role in the Finishing Department, focusing on all client revisions. This includes a customer facing approach (one on one contact with clients) regarding revisions and consultations. This position is part of the Concierge team. A meticulous attention to detail and precision to meet client expectations during each phase of the client project and ensuring an exceptional customer experience through the Art Department.

Furthermore, Staff Artists contribute to the Separations Department, providing essential support to the Separations Manager. In this capacity, they execute all art separations for production, demonstrating proficiency in separating and preparing artwork for various production processes. This involves a deep understanding of the technical aspects of art separations and a commitment to delivering output that aligns with production requirements.

Beyond the initial training period, Staff Artists may also be considered for tasks such as marketing, creating in-house assets, and other responsibilities as needed by the department. It is essential for a Staff Artist to stay updated on the company's products, services, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with organizational goals and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manipulating customizable design templates from our library of in-house created designs

  • Working within the “Finishing Department” focusing on all client revisions.

  • Working within the Separations department providing support to the separations manager. Executing all art separations for production.

  • Recreating client submitted artwork to print as a screen print design on apparel

  • Create and design concept driven artwork with a quick turnaround time of 1/2-4 hours

  • Revisions to production mock-ups

  • Pre-production (Pre-Press and separations)

  • Communicate with clients regarding consults and revisions on a need basis

  • Work hands on with the PA’s (sales) regarding questions for specs of an order

  • Communicate with the Marketing Department on special projects

  • Handle press issues, print specifications and R&D with Operations

  • Capable of producing or revising up to 10 CSA jobs daily

  • Determine daily art needs with the Art Manager

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design a plus

  • 1-2 years design experience

  • Advanced knowledge in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Capable of working in a Mac environment

  • Screen printing knowledge a plus

  • ntermediate/advanced Illustration skills a plus

Physical Requirements:

Able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.

 

Probationary Period & Termination

During the first 90 days we will be equipping you with the necessary resources and training you specifically for the above position. Sunday Cool has a 90-day probationary period for all new employees, which includes a 30, 60 & 90-day feedback meeting with your direct leadership team to gain helpful insight, glean new perspectives, discuss positive performance, and address any areas needing improvement. Before the conclusion of your probationary period, you will be tested on the Art Department-provided handbook, policies and procedures, as well as products to qualify you. All staff artists are required to pass with a 95% or above to qualify as an employee of Sunday Cool. Sunday Cool, LLC reserves the right to terminate the employment of any employee at any time without notice and without payment in lieu of notice, subject to the laws of the State of Florida.

Overtime & Payroll:

We pay biweekly (Every other week) on Fridays.  Pay is based on eighty standard hours per pay period and Sunday Cool has 26 pay periods/year. 

 

Drug-Free Workplace:

Sunday Cool is a drug-free workplace.  The company reserves the right to conduct drug testing on all employees.  In the event of a workplace accident the impacted employee will be required to be tested for drugs.
